Katrina Bulmer leads the Employee Benefits Team as well as serving as Account Executive for some of Bryson’s key accounts. Katrina manages, trains, and supports a team of account managers and client service and support staff. Her extensive knowledge of the self-insured marketplace, claims auditing, appeals and resolution as well as case management allows her to educate not only her team, but our clients and their employees on how to navigate through the complicated world of employee benefits. As an Account Executive, Katrina works closely with Human Resources Teams and Managers to consult, design, and implement benefits packages that best fit that company’s corporate culture.

Katrina’s experience in the medical, carrier and broker side of the insurance industry makes her a triple threat. Katrina’s expectation of accountability with her team as well as with our carrier partners has earned her respect in the industry as being tough but fair. It is her compassion and her ability to put herself in the place of others that propels her to get the best possible outcome for our clients and their employees.

Katrina spent 15 years of her career in the stop loss and self-funded divisions for AIG, PacifiCare/United Healthcare, and BEST Life. Katrina was utilized in positions that involved: evaluating and underwriting medical risk, claims auditing, medical case management, and provider negotiation for their specific and aggregate products as well as their Administrative Service Organization (ASO) accounts. Katrina received her formal training working for industry leaders such as Blue Cross, MetLife and FHP as a claims examiner, auditor and trainer for their medical and dental products. She then progressed to working with their specialty divisions such as overpayment and recovery, subrogation/third party liability and appeals/adjustment departments, implementation, staffing and training customer service representatives. Katrina is the current President and Health Chair for NAIFA Long Beach and has graduated from their Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) program.
