Managing the Annual Renewal Process
One of Bryson Financial Group’s key values is creating strong, lasting relationships with
our clients as well as with our carriers.  This is the basis of our carrier management
philosophy and the key to our success with the renewal process for our clients.  Our marketing renewal process includes, but is not limited to the following process:

  • Strategy Development:  Identify your goals, analyze program costs and review both current and alternative funding arrangements.
  • Management of the renewal: With the current carriers with a strong focus on achieving lower costs, as well as market alternative carriers to ensure the most cost effective options in the marketplace.
  • Prepare and discuss renewal timeline:  The timeline covers every aspect from RFP preparation through the implementation process.
  • Develop RFPs that are tailored to your specifications and overall benefit goals.
  • Explore funding alternatives, including stop-loss and self-funding arrangements.
  • Prepare renewal analysis report and renewal negotiations:  This provides an analysis of the current program, claim costs projections, and a complete comparison of benefit plan designs available to meet your company’s overall benefit goals.
  • Finalize decisions with client and create a detailed plan for implementation:  Collaborate with your HR management and company executives and provide any further information needed.
  • Follow up throughout the entire process.

Negotiating & Monitoring Costs
We are driven to effectively negotiate on your behalf utilizing our team’s resources of knowledge, experience, diverse backgrounds, and carrier relationships.
Upon completion of the initial audit, evaluation, and marketing process, an analysis is performed strictly on a quantitative cost basis to gauge the competitiveness in the marketplace.  From the analysis, BFG will work with your company to achieve the target goal.  BFG then returns to the insurance carriers with our set of targets and expected outcomes.  In this process, we effectively use leverage to create a competitive environment on behalf of your business. The next step is to implement our qualitative analysis of the carriers that have met our qualitative targets.  The analysis includes: reviewing networks, plan designs, discounts, services, reputation, solvency, etc.  At this stage, both the qualitative and quantitative measures are weighed to move forward with the appropriate carriers.

 Legislative Compliance
Bryson Financial Group offers clients substantial legal and legislative resources on both a
local and national level.  Our office has staff members who monitor benefits-related
legislative activity through National Association of Insurance Financial Advisors
(NAIFA) and Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA).  We keep clients
informed of regulatory and legislative issues that affect employee benefit plans by issuing
Legislative Updates.  Bryson Financial Group depends heavily on timely updates of
legislative developments on the federal and state levels for its forecasting, maintenance
and impact on our clients.  We disseminate our information in a variety of ways based on the timeliness, importance, and pertinence to each client.  The process includes personal phone calls, newsletters, lunch and learn seminars, email and strategy sessions.  It is our job to help filter and process the pertinence of the updates that are applicable to your company.  Our participation on a legislative level (NAIFA), through professional associations (PIRHA and SHRM) and overall combined years of industry experience allow us to be on the forefront of emerging trends, products and services that allow us to make recommendations in plan designs that will best fit our client’s needs.

  • Prior to your renewal for your medical and dental insurance, we set up a meeting to review your current employee benefits package, discuss the current trends, compliance review for the employee benefits, and discuss your needs for your next plan year.
  • Due diligence process.  At least annually, and in certain instances more often, we go out to market to ensure that you have the plan design(s) that best fit your company’s needs, at the most competitive rates.  During this process, we negotiate with the carriers to see if they will further reduce their rates.
  • Consultation phase.  We set up another meeting to discuss your current rates, your renewal rates, and the various options in the marketplace.  At this time, we also make recommendations to help you reach your strategic goal.
  • Advocacy phase.  We believe this to be the most critical element of your renewal.  It is in this phase, that we believe our value added benefit to your organization is best displayed through bottom line results.  The rate negotiations and advocacy phase requires knowledge, relationships, and understanding of both sides of the negotiation to work on our clients behalf in the most effective manner.
  • Implementation phase.  After your management makes the decision for the Employee Benefits package for the next plan year, we discuss and define the Open Enrollment process.  We help you reduce the burden by identifying the most efficient processes, and assist with coordinating the enrollment meetings.
  • Monitor results.  After the Open Enrollment process, we communicate all of the results to the management, as well as answer any questions, comments, or concerns.
  • Provide ongoing support for your HR Department and Employees.

Communication Plans
Effective communication is essential to successful benefits planning and implementation. Bryson Financial Group offers bilingual communication services tailored to your budget, needs and objectives.  We create communications that enhance the employees’ understanding of their benefit programs and encourage your company to make the process transparent to the employees.  Our ultimate goal with regards to communication is to increase employee education, appreciation of their benefits, and enhance job satisfaction.  Bryson Financial Group creates communication materials for clients as a core service including:

  • Open Enrollment.  We will provide you with custom written and designed open enrollment materials, which communicate your benefit programs and describe the benefit options.  We offer either a customized benefits booklet or a PDF, which can be posted on an intranet site.

  • New Hire.  We recognize that New Hire Orientations are very important and set the tone for the company by creating a first impression.  Therefore we offer you the option of producing a new hire guide, focusing on getting new employees “on board” with their benefits.

  • Recruitment.   We have the ability to develop recruitment brochures highlighting your company’s benefits program, communicating a branded message about the value and benefits of working for the employer.
